Happy 4th of July and happy 241st birthday, America! No matter your political affiliation or your views on the current state of our country, I hope we can all agree that we are blessed to live where we do. Some people in other countries wake up every day being forced to dress a certain way, perform a specific job, marry a certain person, and keep quiet about their thoughts/ideas. We instead have the opportunity and choice to pick a career we would like to do, follow our own religion, marry a person we love, and practice freedom of speech. In the midst of the chaos of daily life, I think we all sometimes lose sight of this. I know I do. Does our country need work in some areas? Yes, of course. But the design of our country allows for that growth by being based on the premise of our founding fathers and democracy. Thank you to all of the brave men and women who have and continue to protect the freedoms we are given on a daily basis.
Be kind to one another and God bless the red, white, and blue.
Now please excuse me while I watch to make sure my neighbors don’t light our trees on fire with their amateur fireworks. Leave it to the professionals, guys… I mean it’s not like we live directly behind Magic Kingdom (that shoots off one of the largest firework shows) or anything…. 🙂
Until next time, keep on the sunny side.
